He completed post-graduate studies in finance, European economic and legal relations in the Warsaw School of Economics in 2004. In 2008 Rafał Karnowski was registered as a legal adviser under the number of Łd-M-1492. The founding deed of Kancelaria Prawnicza Karnowski i Wspólnik Spółka Komandytowa (limited partnership), with Rafał Karnowski as the General Partner and the Company. as Limited Partner, was signed in August 2010.

From 1 July 2008 till 31 July 2010 Rafał Karnowski was a Member of the Company. Management Board and from August 2010 to 18 February 2015 he was a Proxy of the Company. Currently he is a Proxy in MEDFinance S.A. and a Member of Supervisory Boards in the subsidiary companies operating in Slovakia and Czech Republic: Magellan Central Europe s.r.o. and Magellan Česká republika, s.r.o.

On 19 February 2015 Rafał Karnowski has been re-appointed as a Member of Magellan S.A. Management Board and since 3 October 2017 he has been Vice-President of the Management Board of Magellan S.A.
